Naval Station Great Lakes is the United States Navy's Headquarters Command for training, located in North Chicago, Illinois. Important tenant commands include the Recruit Training Center (boot camp), Training Support Center and Naval Recruiting District Chicago. Naval Station Great Lakes is a dynamic environment where training occurs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It also continues to be a preferred duty station, which attracts the finest Sailors in the Navy to serve as Recruit Division Commanders, instructors, and many other support positions throughout the base.
